On for a second

  • Playing: D&D and a new system I'm creating

So, things have been getting weird in my life lately. People moving in and out of it faster than I can really keep up. I only have a couple minutes right now (I have to get ready for work), but I wanted to hop on for a bit. I miss dA horribly, and I want to be on here more often. I will give a more thorough post later today *hopefully* before Game Day starts (D&D).

*hugs* to everyone.

So...very...tired...

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: my newest little girl
  • Reading: the back of my eyelids
  • Watching: Elysia discover her hands again
  • Playing: nothing
  • Eating: Nothing at the moment.
  • Drinking: Coffee!!!
Sorry I haven't logged on in a little while. Balancing the newborn and Sera at the same time is a bit...hectic. :)

Ben's dead to the world right now, as he was up for about 40 hours straight. I got about 4 hours sleep last night, and am drinking coffee like there's nothing else.

Lisa has been a wonderful baby thus far, though. She's pretty mellow, and doesn't throw a lot of crying fits. She cries if she's hungry or needs a diaper. If she wants to be held, she'll just fuss a little. Otherwise, she's content to sit and look at things, jump at loud noises, and chew her own fingers.

I have plenty of pics, but need to install the software that came with the camera my dad bought us. As soon as Ben gets up, I'll ask him to do so, and hopefully will have something up in my scraps section soon. :)

*hugs* to you all!

Hey everyone. After 19-20 hours of labor, then about 5 minutes of pushing, our new little girl entered the world.

Born at 3:02 om Pacific Time on July 9th, 2008, Elysia Selene joined out family. 7 pounds 8 ounces, 18.5 inches long.

We got home form the hospital yesterday evening, and I caught up on some sleep. I will still only sorta available for the next couple days as we settle in here at the house.

*hugs* to all.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts while we were busy bring this little one into the world.

Inducing tomorrow!

Mon Jul 7, 2008, 2:02 PM
  • Mood: Eager
  • Listening to: My upstairs neighbors having sex (squeeky floor)
  • Reading: Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy (again)
  • Watching: Not much
  • Playing: Oblivion - see a trend here yet?
  • Eating: Fruit
  • Drinking: Water
After a 4-hour doctor's visit with several tests, finding out I've dilated to 3 cm, and finding out that my body and the baby are both set up for labor, we've decided there's no reason not to induce. I'm at about 41 1/2 weeks, so we don't want to pass the 42 week mark. Looks like tomorrow morning I will be heading in to get things started, and will post again once I bring the little one home. Much love to you all, and thanks to everyone for so much support and encouragement.

*hugs to all*

Here's the update for everyone, or as much of an update as I can give right now.

Went into the hospital last night due to a severe decrease in fetal movement. Baby's fine, and they kept me for a while for observation. Had me walk around for an hour, and in that time I went from a 1cm to 2. Contractions were about 2-4 minutes apart, so they decided to keep me overnight. This morning they checked again: no further dilation, and contractions decreased to every 6-7 minutes. So they sent me home with a prescription for sleeping pills to help me rest and relax as well as instructions to come back in should things change.

All-in-all, it's fairly touch-and-go right now. I have been in the hospital twice in the last 24 hours, and still no progress. I am hoping the activity we've got planned tonight will help. My work does a company picnic kind of thing, and we set off fireworks and such. Hoping that the moving around and loud noises will help to convince this little one to make a debut.

If nothing happens this weekend, I've got an appointment Monday morning at 10am to re-asses the situation, and possibly decide to induce. I'm not too far past my due date yet (one week late as of tomorrow), but my doctor isn't sure how long she wants to leave the baby in.

So yeah, just letting you all know. Gotta run for now. They gave me a shot of morphine to help me rest last night, and it has to go in your ass. Specifically, the upper part of the butt into the hip area...big ol' bruise that has to press into the chair if I want to sit correctly.

*hugs*
Much luv,
Ayngel
